Pear & Blue Cheese Salad: Spring Dinner Party Menu

No meal is complete without a beautiful, fresh salad. Try this delicious, simple recipe from Samantha Pollock, we are sure it will impress your guests. 

 

 
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Serves: 6
 
 
 
 
 
 
Ingredients
  • Super Green Mix (baby spinach & kale are my favourite) 

  • 1/4 Cup Pecans 

  • 2 Pears 

  • Mint

  • Blue Cheese (replace with Goats Cheese if preferred) 

  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar 

  • 2 Tbsp Butter 

  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup 

  • 1 Tbsp Honey Garlic Mustard 

  • Olive Oil 

  • Vinegar (pear infused / balsamic / wine - your preference) 

  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions 
  • Combine butter, sugar and nuts in saucepan over medium heat, gently sauté until pecans are coated and crunchy

  • Combine oil, vinegar, maple syrup, mustard, salt & pepper shake well 

  • Thinly slice pears, crumble blue cheese, chop mint 

  • Mix all elements together in large serving bowl 

  • For extra colour, freshness and flavour add some local fresh blackberries
