10-day culinary and art experience at 9 locations in and around Thornbury, all celebrating our area's beloved apple heritage.
Taking place October 17-27, 2019, and April 14-24, 2020, experience this mini trail through scrumptious tastes, unique art, and one-of-a-kind events for flavour, discovery, and celebration.

A specially-curated small-batch craft cider on tap daily. Offerings will be changing constantly in conjunction with our Artisan Craft Cider fall program.

Juried Apple-Inspired Art Show

Loft Gallery Inc. is excited to announce a special juried show called “This Is Apple Country." The show will launch on Thanksgiving weekend during the apple harvest season. The show will run in the gallery for approximately two weeks. An integral part of an “Thornbury Taste, the show is earmarked at providing visitors and locals with unique experiences along the Apple Pie Trail.
The art show will be geared toward showcasing paintings that depict the local “Apple Country." Artists may submit up to a total of 3 submissions. All are welcome to come experience this unique curated local art experience.

Old-school Cider Pressing

Experience fresh from the tree, hot-off-the press premium cider pressing. Cider will be available for immediate purchase.
It's delightful chilled and scrumptious warmed for cool autumn days or for apres ski. Grandad Jack's Cider will last for one year from date of pressing making it a unique hostess, colleague, thank you or teacher gift.
Cost: $4.00 for cider and cheese pairing. $16 for pressed cider.

Apple Pie Baking Workshop
October 22, 6:30-9pm
Learn the tricks to making your very own apple pie from scratch with the baking experts at the Thornbury Bakery Café! This will be a hands-on lesson held in the back of the bakery, making our classic flakey pie crust and our delicious Red Prince apple pies. You will make your own pastry and apple pie filling from scratch. We will cover the how-to’s, tips and tricks that we’ve learned over the years.
You will leave the class with the recipes for what you’ve made, your delicious nine inch apple pie and four extra pieces of pie crust that you can freeze for later. You can choose to either have us bake your pie that night (to be picked up at the bakery the next morning) or you can freeze it and bake it at home the next time a craving hits!

Join us on for a behind-the-scenes look at the cider making process. Hosted by cidermaker, Joel Loughead, this is an evening of craft cider appreciation & instruction.
Enjoy an in-depth teaching tour about the cider-making process and the opportunity to meet & network with other cider aficionados. Generous samples of our award-winning ciders and curated food pairings round out the evening.

Meet the Cider Master

Join the crew at Thornbury Craft Cider & Beer for a special 'Meet the Master' session.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Cider Master Doug Johnson, learn about the cider making process and have the opportunity to ask questions. They will also receive a guided tasting with Retail and Hospitality Manager Derek Hammond and an education session about the iconic Thornbury Cider building and its history.
Cost: $15pp mid-week walk-in flight special, $20 for Cider Master session (included cider glass).
